Still flying high
Pop superstar Sheryl Crow will visit the suburbs this weekend. Crow has dabbled in a variety of musical genres during her successful career, from straight pop to more rootsy, soulful styles. She's now working on a country album, which is due out this fall.

Shadows Fall, a Grammy-nominated heavy metal band from Springfield, Mass., delivers all the monster riffs, pounding drums and barked lyrics that a metal fan could ask for. The band will headline a Ride For Dime show in the suburbs. Ride For Dime is a not- for-profit organization that raises money for music education programs and other charities in the name of "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, the former guitarist in the band Pantera who was shot and killed while onstage in 2004.

Pop music titans
In the world of contemporary pop music, it doesn't get much bigger than Jay-Z and Justin Timberlake. Jay-Z, a hip-hop legend, has turned his tough, street-wise lyrics and nimble rapping style into an entertainment empire that includes music, fashion and professional sports. Timberlake, whom we all met when he was a member of the popular boy-band 'N Sync, hit the stratosphere as a trendsetting solo artist then became a more-than-credible film star. These two entertainers are joining forces for the Legends of the Summer Tour, which arrives in Chicago early next week.
