Brian holds a Bachelors' degree in Geology from Humboldt State University in California and has over 24 years of experience in the mining industry. His mining experience encompasses exploration and underground production for several companies and their subsidiaries including: Hecla, Barrick and Newmont in Nevada, Idaho, Montana, Colorado, Alaska, and Canada, with his most recent role as Vice-President of Exploration for Premier Gold Mines Limited.
During Brian's tenure at Premier Gold Mines Limited, he managed their Canadian and Nevada assets as well as identifying prospective US project opportunities to grow the company's US property portfolio. Prior to working for Premier, Brian served as Vice-President and General Manager for Rio Grande Silver, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of Hecla Mining Company. While there Brian was instrumental in permitting and re-opening the Equity Mine and completing a re-evaluation of the Bulldog Mine, both located in Colorado. Preceding his work for Hecla, Brian was employed at Great Basin Gold Limited in Nevada, most notably as North American Exploration and Business Development Manager between 2008 and 2010, and as Chief Geologist of the high grade Hollister Gold Mine from 2007 to 2008. Between 2002 and 2007, Brian worked at Newmont Mining Corporation's Midas Operations in several senior capacities and also served as a senior geologist at their Nevada District Exploration Group. Prior to this, Brian was a production geologist at the high-grade Meikle Mine for Barrick Gold Corporation.
