Disneyland Hotel Staff Win Prestigious Marriott International Spirit to Serve Awards

ANAHEIM, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 07/16/13 -- Several associates at the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate, an Anaheim hotel near Angel Stadium, recently earned the prestigious Spirit to Serve award from Marriott International for their outstanding service and commitment to guest satisfaction.

The Spirit to Serve Award recognizes Marriott hotel associates who have been called out by guests for their exemplary service. Several associates won the Spirit to Serve award, including Front Office Manager Henry Flores, Front Desk Agent/Guest Service Specialist Rachel Smith, Front Desk Agent Juan Castelan and Front Desk Agent Donna Stern. Javier Marquez, head of the hotel Engineering department and Roger Rodriguez, who oversaw the front desk staff, also received notable mention for their service.

Recent guest Annette Roehrbein sent a letter to Marriott CEO Arne Sorensen and Marriott corporate praising the staff at the Residence Inn Anaheim Maingate, which is a great hotel for an extended stay near Disneyland. She was especially impressed with the front desk staff, which helped accommodate her special requests with deliveries.

"The front desk staff was over-the-top accommodating," Roehrbein wrote in her letter to Marriott. "From when I first was making calls to the property until our arrival...The staff was super accommodating and genuinely just a 'fun bunch.'"

Roehrbein also praised the hotel's engineering department for promptly and efficiently fixing a broken garbage disposal.

"The maintenance man came, laid down a large sheet not to make a mess and fixed [the garbage disposal] promptly," she wrote. "He had to come back and returned in the time he said he would."

The hotel, which is located near John Wayne Airport in Anaheim, California, also offers a complimentary daily hot breakfast buffet with fresh pastries, juice, and a make-your-own waffle station. Roehrbein raved about the breakfast buffet, saying that she "appreciated the daily variety" and the "fresh food [that] was constantly brought out and refreshed."
