Big-Name Stars Step Up to Help Out Charity

July 10, 2013

A GLAMOROUS evening with the stars is set to take place in Llanelli later this year.

A host of talented singers will take to the stage at Ffwrnes for a concert in aid of Wales's pancreatic cancer charity Amser Justin Time. Shan Cothi, who set up the charity in memory of her late husband, will be headlining the evening, which takes place on November 16.

The date was set to see a concert featuring the Band of the Brigade of Gurkhas, but on hearing that the group would not be visiting Llanelli, Cerith Owens of Loud Applause Productions has quickly re- arranged a replacement concert for the same day and at the same venue.

Cerith said: Shan is a versatile performer in both classical and music theatre repertoire and is an experienced actress, television and radio presenter in Wales.

We are delighted that she is part of the evening -- with Shan there it is bound to be a sellout.

Shan will be joined by popular baritone Mark Llewelyn Evans, who will be performing some songs from his new album This Guy's In Love.

But his main role on the night will be the host due to his great personality and quick wit, Cerith said.

The pair will be joined by the ever popular Cor Meibion Llanelli under the baton of D. Eifion Thomas and the young up and coming musical theatre star Samuel Morris.

Sam is a 17-year-old sixth form student at Ysgol Strade, and played the role of Marius in SA15 Stage School''s production of Les Miserables to great acclaim earlier this year.

Cerith said: This promises to be a truly wonderful evening of entertainment with some of Wales' best loved stars. Tickets are now available from Ffwrnes on 0845 226 3510.
