Daisy Fuentes to Host 'La Voz Kids'

Model and businesswoman in the world of fashion Daisy Fuentes is returning to Spanish-language television as the host of the "La Voz Kids" music competition on Telemundo.

The talent contest, inspired by the success of NBC's "The Voice" and which aired for the first time last Sunday with a record 1 .7 million viewers, also features singers Paulina Rubio, Prince Royce and Roberto Tapia on the panel of judges.

In addition to hosting the program, Fuentes also functions sort of like the "encouragement committee" for the young contestants.

Fuentes began her television career as the weather-girl for a New York television station. Shortly thereafter, she made a successful crossover to English-language TV and for several years was the host of programs like "MTV's House of Style" and "America's Funniest Home Videos," as well as heading up her own program on CNBC.

That's why she says that participating in "La Voz Kids" is like coming home.

"When they offered me the chance to participate in this Spanish-language version of 'The Voice,' I felt happy. I'm thrilled to return to Hispanic television, where my career began," Fuentes told Efe in a telephone interview from Los Angeles.

Daisy Fuentes also said that another very attractive feature of this project is the chance to work with kids. At the same time, though, she says she is aware that the youngsters could be vulnerable to the judges' critiques and to the enormous pressure of the talent contests .
