ISSAQUAH, WA -- (Marketwired) -- 06/06/13 -- Costco Wholesale Corporation ("Costco" or the "Company") (NASDAQ: COST) today reported net sales of $8.13 billion for the month of May, the four weeks ended June 2, 2013, an increase of seven percent from $7.57 billion during the similar period last year.
For the thirty-nine weeks ended June 2, 2013, the Company reported net sales of $77.13 billion, an increase of eight percent from $71.28 billion during the similar period last year.
Comparable sales for the four-week and 39-week periods ended June 2, 2013, were as follows:

Changes in gasoline prices and foreign exchange rates had negative impacts on comparable sales for the four-week period; and immaterial impacts for the 39-week period. Excluding these effects, comparable sales were as follows:
