MCMINNVILLE, OR -- (Marketwired) -- 06/04/13 -- TTR, the industry leader in providing accurate, current, supported and easy to find sales and use tax answers, has just released the first ever Uniform Sales & Use Tax Matrix ("UTM"). Now, and for the first time, any professional may download a Uniform Sales & Use Tax Matrix for any and all states.
Marketplace Fairness Act
The Marketplace Fairness Act of 2013 requires, in part, that certain states provide "information indicating the taxability of products and services along with any product and service exemption from sales and use tax in the State." TTR's Uniform Tax Matrix is the answer to this requirement.
How did TTR do this?
TTR is already working with several state tax agencies toward the larger goal of simplifying sales and use tax answers nationally. With input from state tax agencies and corporate clients, TTR created a Uniform Tax Matrix ("UTM"). TTR started with a list of common products and services across several industries. Then TTR reviewed every Streamlined Sales and Use Tax Agreement Tax Matrix. TTR then created a Uniform Tax Matrix, containing a standard list of products and services with associated taxability along with specific exemptions from sales and use tax in each state.
TTR's Uniform Tax Matrix is just a small piece of TTR's website. The Uniform Tax Matrix contains just under 350 products and services spanning multiple industries.
This is a fraction of the full TTR website.
TTR currently has thousands of products and services covering over 5 million sales and use tax answers across over 20 industries in all states.
Where do I get the Uniform Tax Matrix?
