NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 06/03/13 -- Global sports, media and fashion company, IMG Worldwide, today announced that iconic sports broadcaster and former NFL quarterback Terry Bradshaw has signed with IMG for worldwide management and representation in broadcasting, marketing, sponsorship, endorsements and new business ventures.
In making the announcement, Sandy Montag, Senior Corporate Vice President and Head of IMG Clients division, said, "IMG is proud to work with some of the most talented and recognizable athletes and broadcasters in the world. Terry Bradshaw is an American sports institution with a larger-than-life personality. He is a hardworking, dedicated, likeable professional that has a universal appeal that we can leverage to further expand his personal brand through strategic marketing partnerships."
Bradshaw is a four-time Super Bowl champion NFL quarterback, an Emmy award-winning broadcaster for FOX on "Fox NFL Sunday," New York Times best-selling author and popular film and television actor.
Terry Bradshaw said, "I'm so excited to be joining the IMG family. I've accomplished so much in my career already, but I truly believe that IMG can offer me the opportunity to tap into and create unique business opportunities with their unrivalled resources and access to diverse industries across the world."
Bradshaw's career in the NFL began in 1970 and spanned more than 13 years playing for only the Pittsburgh Steelers. He was the first player chosen in the draft by the Steelers and the 6'3" Bradshaw would become one of the most iconic quarterbacks in NFL history. He is the first-ever quarterback to win four Super Bowl Championships (1975, 1976, 1979 and 1980). In his four Super Bowl performances, he completed 49 of 84 attempted passes (nine for touchdowns) for 932 yards (second all-time), with just three interceptions. He still holds the Super Bowl passing records for average gain per attempt in career (11.10 yards) and average gain in a game (14.71 yards in Super Bowl XIV). Bradshaw is a two-time Super Bowl MVP (Super Bowls XIII and XIV) and Pro Football Hall of Fame member. He retired from the NFL as a player in 1984.
Bradshaw began his transition into broadcasting as a guest commentator for CBS Sports NFC postseason broadcasts in the early 1980's. Once retired, he became a full- time CBS game analyst. Bradshaw currently presides as co-host and analyst on "Fox NFL Sunday", America's most-watched pregame show. During his "Fox NFL Sunday" tenure, Bradshaw has earned three Sports Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Sports Personality/Analyst category (1999, 2001 and 2009) and named TV Guide's Favorite Sportscaster in 1999.
In addition to his NFL and broadcasting career, Bradshaw is an established feature film and TV actor. He appeared in Paramount's hit "Failure to Launch" and lent his distinctive voice to the animated film Robots. His television credits include guest starring spots on "Everybody Loves Raymond," "8 Simple Rules," "Malcolm in the Middle" and "Blossom" among many others. He also briefly hosted his own talk show, "The Home Team with Terry Bradshaw," the first talk show ever to debut simultaneously on network and syndicated television. Bradshaw is the first and only NFL player to receive a star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
Bradshaw has written five books, Looking Deep (1989), It's Only A Game (2001), Keep it Simple (2002), No Easy Game (1973) and Terry Bradshaw: Man of Steel (1979). It's Only A Game and Keep It Simple are New York Times best sellers.
Terry Bradshaw's management team at IMG will be led by Ira Stahlberger, Senior Vice President of IMG's Client division.
Terry Bradshaw resides in Texas but is originally from Shreveport, Louisiana, where he attended Louisiana Tech and played football; he received a Bachelor of Science degree in physical education and still holds the single-season passing and total offense records.
