Scores of extras needed for film ; PARTS: THRILLER BEING SHOT IN COUNTY

June 29, 2013

Scores of extras are needed for a film being shot in Leicestershire next week.

Up to 150 people are being invited to take part in the movie A Dark Reflection, which is being filmed in Lutterworth, on Tuesday.

The thriller tells the story of an air traffic controller who is suspended following a serious in-flight incident.

However, when his journalist wife starts asking questions, she uncovers a history of coverups dating back to the 1950s. The film stars British-born actress Georgina Sutcliffe, former Coronation Street actor Bill Ward and Star Trek Next Generation's Marina Sirtis, who played Deanna Troi in the sci-fi series.

The film's writer and director, Tristan Loraine, a former British Airways captain, said: This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who is interested in being part of a film or in how a film is made.

This is a co-operative film and we are opening up the role of extras to anyone who wants to get involved.

The film is described as Erin Brockovich meets All the President's Men, and extras will be asked to take part in an aircraft scene. Media relations manager Amber Rust said: The film will expose one of aviation's biggest cover-ups. Former pilot Tristan, who has 11 films under his belt, is also a documentary- maker and founded his production company, Fact not Fiction Productions, in 2006.

Since then, he has released a number of features including Welcome Aboard Toxic Airlines (2007), a documentary about contaminated air aboard aeroplanes, and Shady Lady (2013), a film about a B-24 Liberator aircraft which carried out the longest bombing raid of the Second World War campaign.

Leicestershire Chamber of Commerce managing director Martin Traynor said the decision to film in Leicestershire was a welcome one.

He said: I know when they filmed Shadowlands at Great Central Railway, it brought in something like Pounds 100,000 to the area. It brings in money to local services such as venues, catering and a myriad of other services which the crews and cast rely on.

It's certainly an economic driver. FIlming is taking place inside a Boeing 737 aircraft. Extras of all ages are needed for the shot.
