June 29--How bad are things in summer TV land? Ask me again after you note that I've included an old M. Night Shyamalan film and the words "Amy," "Schumer," "Franklin" and "Bash" in today's column. Here's what caught my eye on television this week:

Sunday: "BET Awards," 7 p.m., BET: Chris Tucker hosts this tribute to Charlie Wilson, Dwyane Wade and others.

"Dexter," 8 p.m., Showtime: The killer eighth and final season begins tonight.

"Ray Donovan," 9 p.m., Showtime: Liev Schreiber stars as a thug-turned-Hollywood-fixer (see: "Scandal") and Jon Voight plays his ex-con dad in this stylishly gritty pay-cable drama.

Monday: "American Ninja Warrior," 7 p.m., NBC: The fifth season kicks off tonight and I honestly hope that "flying nun chucks" is an obstacle course item and not a description of something that happens to a nun.

"The Goodwin Games," 7:30 p.m., Fox: Fans love it but, after tonight's season finale, it looks like it might be game over for this struggling series.

"Siberia," 9 p.m., NBC: It's "Survivor" meets "Lost" in the premiere of this new drama about doomed contestants on a reality series.

Tuesday: "Inside Amy Schumer," 9:30 p.m., Comedy Central: Tonight's first-season finale is entitled "Sex Tips."

Wednesday: "Franklin and Bash," 8 p.m., TNT: I know, I know ... it's "Franklin and Bash." But it's about the only thing on tonight that isn't a rerun. I give up, summer. You win.

Thursday: "Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular," 7 p.m., NBC. Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift are among the performers introduced by host Nick Cannon.

"Philly 4th of July Jam," 7 p.m., VH1: This show would be totally different if it were airing on the Food Network. Demi Lovato, John Mayer and The Roots perform with others at the nation's largest free concert.

Friday: "Unbreakable," 8 p.m., Bravo: Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson star in this M. Night Shyamalan film from 2000. Here's the obligatory quirky twist: It's good.

Saturday: "Brooklyn DA," 8 p.m., CBS: "I'm out of order? You're out of order! And by out of order, I mean canceled." The final episode airs tonight.
