Tele2 Norway selects Ericsson for nationwide 4G rollout

* Ericsson selected to build nationwide 2G, 3G and 4G networks in Norway

* Meets Norwegian subscribers' expectations and demand for higher speedand capacity, enabling more data-intense applications and services

* Deal includes Ericsson RBS 6000 family of base stations, softwarenetwork upgrades as well as support and deployment services

Tele2 Norway and Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) have signed an agreement for next-generation nationwide coverage. Under the contract Ericsson will alsoupgrade and expand Tele2's existing 2G and 3G networks in Norway, becomingthe main vendor for the radio access solutions for all standards. Theagreement supports Tele2 Norway's strategy to advance its market position,be in the forefront and move quickly with its new offerings to consumers.

The deal includes multi-standard radio base station equipment from theEricsson RBS 6000 family, LTE RAN software, upgrade of existing 2G and 3Gaccess network software and upgrade of core solutions. Services will alsobe a key part of the upgrade.

Ericsson will nowbecome the main nationwide network partner for 2G and 3G expansion, as wellas build-out of 4G. The Norwegian government is planning to hold a national frequency auctionin December 2013, aiming to secure better competition in the Norwegianmobile market.

The recently published Ericsson Mobility Report predicts that in five years60 percent of the world's population will to be covered by LTE. Ericssonhas delivered more than 150 LTE/EPC networks worldwide, of which more than80 have gone live commercially.
