SUPERIOR, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/19/13 -- StillSecure® today announced that as of June 10, 2013, Safe Access® has renewed its certification on the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Unified Capabilities Approved Product List (UC APL). As a result of reaching this certification, StillSecure's award winning Network Access Control (NAC) solution, Safe Access, is the only NAC product to be approved under the DoD's strict new 2013 requirements.
Additionally, Safe Access is now compliant with all nine applicable Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG) requirements. The combination of various requirements amounts to more than 1,000 different security configurations, requirements and features that must be met before certification for inclusion on the UC APL.
"For more than eight years, StillSecure has worked closely with the Department of Defense and this recent certification underscores our proven commitment to comply with and meet the network access control needs of the various branches of the Federal government," said James D. Brown, CEO of StillSecure. "The fact that we are the only vendor to reach this requirement proves the significant investment of time and money we have placed into meeting the security and information assurance needs of our armed forces. Working hand-in-hand with the DoD, we are confident that Safe Access is stronger, easier to deploy, less expensive to operate, and much more scalable for all of our customers today."
"Network access control is back in the spotlight, thanks to BYOD and an even more dynamic enterprise environment," said Wendy Nather, research director of the Enterprise Security Practice at 451 Research. "Meeting the stringent Department of Defense security requirements means that other mission-critical organizations will take another look at NAC."
Since 2005, StillSecure has been on the DoD approved products list, starting with the Army IA APL. The current certification lasts until June 2016. Safe Access also has full OVAL® integration, which allows our Security Alert Team to include new OVAL checks as they are created. Further, Safe Access can verify the proper function of data-at-rest encryption, McAfee® HBSS® agents, and other information assurance agents on endpoints. With full CAC-authentication built in, Safe Access fits right into any approved DoD-installation. Finally, Safe Access can provide access control for mobile devices, nicely complementing a Mobile Device Manager or other mobile management technologies to provide full situational awareness of the mobile devices on your network, and allow you to control the access they receive on the network. Safe Access easily supports 10,000 to 30,000 devices per server.
Safe Access was recently honored at Info Security Products Guide's Global Excellence Awards during RSA 2013 in San Francisco. In 2012, Safe Access was also honored with an "Innovator Rating" and received one of the highest product scores among seven other vendors in a report from the Info-Tech Research Group entitled, "Vendor Landscape: Network Access Control." StillSecure also received the highest Value Index score of the group and was listed as an "Exemplary Performer" in the areas of post-connect threat monitoring and containment, and full mobility support. In addition, Safe Access was recently named a finalist in the 2013 SC Magazine Awards in the Reader Trust Awards "Best NAC product" category. The company was also named a winner in the "Best Endpoint Security Solution" category of the 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards competition by Government Security News this past November.
