1. Minister MacKay to address representatives of the Inter-American Defense Board (IADB) & the Organization of American States (OAS)
Following a meeting with the Secretary General of the OAS, Jose Miguel Inzulsa, Minister MacKay will address the Council of Delegates of the IADB and representatives of the various Permanent Representative Missions to the OAS, on Canada's defence engagement in the Americas, as well as hemispheric security issues. Following his speech, the Minister will accept questions from the audience.

2. U.S. Senator John McCain to receive honourary doctorate from the Royal Military College of Canada
Senator McCain is being awarded an honourary doctorate of military studies for his ongoing cooperation with Canada, as well as his years of dedicated work with Canada toward strengthening hemispheric and international security. In addition to Minister MacKay, Dr. Joel Sokolsky, Principal of the Royal Military College of Canada, and Major Ray Stouffer, the Registrar, will also be on hand to present the degree to Senator McCain.
Minister MacKay and Senator McCain will take questions from the media following the presentation.
