SOUTH PARIS -- The South Paris Parks and Recreation Department has announced the Summer Concerts in the Park schedule which will kick off Wednesday, June 26.
Children's concerts begin at 10 a.m.; the evening concerts begin at 6 p.m. All Wednesday concerts are free and open to the public. Bring your own chair or blanket; picnic snacks or meals are allowed. The South Paris Fire Auxiliary will sell items during the evening shows.
Rain location will be the community room at the fire station except for two dates: July 10 and Aug. 14 at which time the concerts will be held at the middle school.
The following is the schedule for the family friendly, evening concerts:
June 26 Just Us Two -- Acoustic duo of Bob and Jo play classic rock, oldies, folk and country music. Sing along to Puff the Magic Dragon and other popular tunes as Bob and Jo play everyone's favorites.
July 3 Blue Willow Band -- Six-piece rhythm and blues/jazz band featuring Diana Hansen on vocals, guitar and percussion. The band includes multi-instrumentalists Dave Wake?eld tenor sax, harmonica, vocals; and band-leader Merrill Rollins keyboards, trumpet, and vocals; to great create a big band sound with only six musicians. Rex Rounds guitar and vocals; Bill Hansen bass and vocals; and Jon Bliss drums; combine to provide a full, punchy sound that really swings. Their selection of tunes ranges from Robert Cray to Fats Waller
July 10 Allen Tradition -- Peter Allen and the band perform traditional country music.
July 17 Delta Knights -- Since 1996 this band has specialized in the best of rhythm and blues, blues, classic rock and swing, from Count Basie to Stevie Wonder to Stevie Ray Vaughan.
July 24 Paul & Ellen -- Paul Dube on vocals, guitar; and Ellen Lindsey on bass fiddle; have been performing together for many years encompassing many styles of music.
July 31 Kristin Short & Friends -- Short is a multi-genre singer/ songwriter who delivers heartfelt, well-crafted original music with richly passionate vocals.
Aug. 7 Milltown Road Show -- The band performs sweet harmonies and toe-tapping cover tunes, along with some favorite originals. The concert will feature a selection of roots, Americana and original songs.
Aug. 14 Hurricane Mountain -- The band loves all styles of music and likes to have fun on stage.
