OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwired) -- 06/17/13 -- Her Excellency Sharon Johnston will visit the Causeway Work Centre where she will deliver remarks and unveil a plaque to officially open the Wellness Showers, a new facility within Causeway's Fitness Centre, on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. This unveiling will take place at the Causeway Work Centre (22 O'Meara Street, Ottawa.)
"It is an honour to be part of this special event and to be able to acknowledge the efforts of the many individuals who generously contributed time and resources to the completion of the new showers facility," said Her Excellency. "It is also be an opportunity to recognize the important work that the Centre does to support individuals who are disadvantaged or living with mental health issues in our community. Organizations such as Causeway make a great difference in the lives of many by offering employment programs and opportunities, which in turn, reduce the stigma and encourage a greater social inclusion of those living with mental illness."
Following the unveiling, Her Excellency will attend the Centre's Annual Volunteer Appreciation event, where Causeway Work Centre clients and Causeway Foundation board members and community supporters will be recognized.
