Eva Longoria Helps Kick Off CGI America

The two-day Clinton Global Initiative kicked off today with President Clinton hosting the annual event, which focuses on finding solutions that promote economic recovery in the U.S.

This year's CGI America was held in Chicago and the event will feature leaders from the business, foundation, NGO, and government sectors to develop solutions that increase employment, advance access to education and skills development, strengthen energy security, and promote an environment for business growth and innovation.

President Clinton welcomed guests before his wife, Hillary Clinton, talked to guests about education and the importance of women in the economy. To follow the conversation, and read highlights, follow CGI's Twitter account.

Following Hillary Clinton, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Pritzker Group Managing Partner J.B. Pritzker will both speak before the first session will begin.

"American Dreams, American Realities: Achieving Economic and Social Mobility" will be moderated by President Clinton and will include panelists actress and philanthropist Eva Longoria; National Math + Science Initiative Chief Executive Officer Sara Martinez Tucker; founder, president and CEO of Chobani Inc. Hamdi Ulukaya; and Target Corp. community relations president Laysha Ward.
