A FORMER Notts contestant on Britain's Got Talent has backed singing sensation Arisxandra Libantino to go on and win the show's final.
Eleven-year-old Arisxandra, of Aspley, wowed the judges in Monday's semi-final show with Whitney Houston's I Have Nothing, beating dance troupe Young Creation to the second spot on the show's final - after the judges sent the show to deadlock, forcing the public vote to be the decider.
A former Long Eaton contestant, Terminator impersonator Stuart Arnold is backing the little angel with the big voice to win the show's final.
Stuart, also known as the Entertainer-nator, performed his Arnold Schwarzenegger routine two years ago, when he made it through to the semi-finals. There, he says, he met Arisxandra back stage. She had entered at the age of nine - but her audition was never aired on TV.
He said: I took my mask off and said 'hello' and we got chatting.
Stuart said he was now in regular contact with the singer and was a close friend of her family.
He said that ever since meeting the Libantino family backstage, he had tried to help the singer in any way he could.
In December 2011, he invited Arisxandra to perform at a charity event, where she met her current singing teacher, Sylvia Stewart.
I wanted to give her encouragement to keep believing that her time would come, he said.
The impersonator said he even invited Arisxandra to Psyrex Studio, in Sherwood, where they filmed YouTube videos to promote the young singer.
This year, she is in the right place at the right time with a talent to shine.
Stuart said that he was sitting in the audience next to the singer's dad, Aristotle, when she performed on Monday.
He added: The moral of the story is never give in even if you have disappointments. You will get there in the end if you try and believe in yourself.
Stuart will be dressed as the Terminator to meet Sarah Connor actress Linda Hamilton at the London Film and Comic Con on July 6- 7.
Winning ways STUART Arnold's five top tips on how to be a BGT success: 1 HAVE FUN I auditioned after meeting other BGT acts and they told me it was fun. This is the most important tip.
2 PRACTICE If you have a talent, practise lots and get your confidence up. Get used to having people watch you perform. Record yourself and watch it back to see how you can improve. I make videos for YouTube and let people give me feedback. Sometimes it's not nice to be told you can do better but it's always nice to hear you have fans.
3 MEET PEOPLE Before you get to the judges, you audition in front of a producer. It's exciting and you will get to meet and know many talented contestants.
4 MAKE AN IMPRESSION Show your style. I used an iconic character but they like someone who stands out from the crowd.
5 PREPAREDNESS Be prepared for disappointment but don't fear it. Know that it is only the beginning of the journey.
