SUPERIOR, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 05/29/13 -- StillSecure® today announced a new customer in California Coast Credit Union, San Diego's oldest credit union. The Credit Union will utilize StillSecure's award-winning Network Access Control (NAC) solution, Safe Access® to help tackle complicated issues like FFIEC and NCUA compliance.
"We chose StillSecure's NAC solution, Safe Access, based on its sophisticated technology and ease of use," said Jonathan Danucalov, Network Engineer, IT Network for California Coast Credit Union. "With Safe Access, we have not only decreased our IT costs but increased the company's overall IT efficiency by fully automating our network monitoring process. Today, monitoring can be done by one person which frees the rest of our IT department up to work on future projects."
Complying with the new FFIEC and NCUA guidelines is important to California Coast Credit Union's client base. The new capabilities will help them to better serve customers, while also protecting their own network by identifying potential security weaknesses and threats.
In addition to many commercial customers, Safe Access® is used by most major U.S. military branches under the Department of Defense (DoD) and is the only NAC solution that allows users to set compliance policy by Information Assurance Vulnerability Alerts (IAVAs), and provides the ability to research IAVA details by providing direct linking to the U.S. Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM) website. Safe Access also enables users to meet the access control and quarantine guidelines set forth in the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council's (FFIEC) Information Technology Examination Handbook. Safe Access easily supports 10,000 to 30,000 devices per server.
"Enforcing policies based on user roles and the ability to restrict access for individual employees to certain times of the day and specific days of the week is a crucial security feature for California Coast Credit Union," said James D. Brown, CTO at StillSecure. "Their IT team will no longer need to focus a large majority of the day identifying non-compliant and guest devices, which is both a time consuming and challenging task."
Safe Access was recently honored with a Silver award at Info Security Products Guide's Global Excellence Awards during RSA 2013 in San Francisco. In May 2012, Safe Access was honored with an "Innovator Rating" and received one of the highest product scores among seven other vendors in a report from the Info-Tech Research Group entitled, "Vendor Landscape: Network Access Control." StillSecure also received the highest Value Index score of the group and was listed as an "Exemplary Performer" in the areas of post-connect threat monitoring and containment, and full mobility support. In addition, Safe Access was recently named a finalist in the 2013 SC Magazine Awards in the Reader Trust Awards "Best NAC product" category. The company was also named a winner in the "Best Endpoint Security Solution" category of the 4th Annual Homeland Security Awards competition by Government Security News this past November.
