70's-era band to play Sunsets at Salubria

May 28--For the second concert in the Sunsets at Salubria series, The Robbie Limon Band will perform Sunday, June 2, in the boxwood garden at historic Salubria, circa 1757 Georgian manor. The Germanna Foundation invites guests of all ages to bring a picnic dinner, folding chairs and enjoy the evening 'rocking the boxwoods' with The Robbie Limon Band's music from the 1970s.

Held the first Sunday of the month through October, these concerts feature a beautiful venue, superb acoustics, and award-winning musicians. Salubria is located just seven miles east of the town of Culpeper, on Salubria Lane off of Route 3. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the music starts at 6 p.m.

Admission is $15 for adults, $5 for Germanna Foundation members and students. Children under 12 are free. All concert proceeds support research and restoration projects at Salubria. Free guided tours of Salubria will be offered at 4:30 and 5 p.m.

Robbie Limon of Middletown. is an award-winning entertainer who mixes solo and band appearances with acting/singing roles at professional theaters. The full band features: Limon on lead vocals and guitar; Hank Zimmerman on keyboards; Paul Moschetto on lead guitar, drummer Kevin Archambault and Ken Wissmann on bass.

With more than 30 years experience, Limon plays about 200 dates each year, featuring 1970s-era music. Music lovers will enjoy cover tunes made famous by the Eagles, John Denver, Gordon Lightfoot, Credence Clearwater Revival, Roy Orbison, The Doobie Brothers, Jim Croce, Willie Nelson, and others.

The remaining line-up of the artists performing at Sunsets at Salubria this year include:

--Melodime, July 7, a southern fusion rock band

--Texas Chainsaw Horns, Aug. 4, this band with a five-piece horn section is inspired by musicians Ray Charles, James Brown, ZZ Top and The Tower of Power.

--Jeff Watson and The Downtown Band, Sept. 1, a 1960s-inspied soul band

--The Smallwood Brothers, Oct. 6, a classic rock cover band
