SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/23/13 -- Skout CEO Christian Wiklund today announced formation the Skout Trust and Safety Advisory Board. This permanent advisory body is made up of some of the nation's leading online safety experts who will provide critical guidance on improving Skout's online safety for both its teen and adult communities.
"The Skout Trust and Safety Advisory Board will play an important role in bringing to bear the expertise, ideas and experience of some of the most knowledgeable people in online safety. Our board will play a pivotal role in facilitating the exchange of information and ideas, the sharing of best practices, and the development of expertise on issues related to teen online safety, as well as online safety in general. It will also help us work through some of the more challenging issues we may face in the future as we continue to push the envelope in developing new technology that allows people around the world to meet, chat and make new friends," said Wiklund.

Stephen Balkam - founder and CEO of the Family Online Safety Institute (FOSI), an international, nonprofit organization whose aim is to identify and promote best practices, tools and methods in the field of online safety (www.FOSI.org). Prior to creating FOSI, Stephen was the founder and CEO of the Internet Content Rating Association and the Recreational Software Advisory Council, where he led the creation of the world's leading content description system for digital content.
Anne Collier - is an author, journalist and youth advocate she is co-founder and co-director of ConnectSafely.org; founder and executive director of the nonprofit Net Family News, Inc.; and editor of NetFamilyNews.org, co-director at ConnectSafely, a group dedicated to advising parents, teens, and businesses on best practices on the social web.
