SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/21/13 -- Clustrix, www.clustrix.com, today announced that Robin Purohit, Clustrix CEO, will represent Clustrix as a Spotlight Company at Under the Radar 2013 on May 23, 2013 in San Francisco, California. Under the Radar is Silicon Valley's premiere startup showcase and will illuminate the latest innovation in business technology including the Clustrix database. Now running on AWS, Clustrix is the first and only row-based SQL database that provides massively parallel processing (MPP) to both transactions and real-time analytics, delivering a complete reinvention of the operational database that is ideal for the transition to the cloud.
"Only the most innovative emerging technologies are invited to present their solution to the expert panel at Under the Radar, which includes VP and C-level execs at Fortune 500 companies like Salesforce, Google, Virgin America, Bank of America, and more, who are looking to partner, purchase, or acquire innovative new technologies," said Debbie Landa, CEO, Dealmaker Media/Under the Radar. "We are extremely pleased that Clustrix will be sharing its next-generation business technology with hundreds of highly-influential attendees."
This month, Clustrix announced the completion of a $16.5 million funding round, bringing its total capital raised to date to $46.5 million. With more than 30 customers worldwide, Clustrix will use the funding to expand distribution of its software to a variety of public and private cloud platforms.
Last month, the company released Clustrix 5.0 on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The AWS offering is the next step in the company's cloud strategy, following database-as-a-service announcements with Rackspace, GoGrid, Equinix, and Blue Box Group. In addition, the company published a breakthrough real-time analytics performance benchmark for its scale-out SQL database, demonstrating a 50x advantage on AWS compared to legacy scale-up databases.
"Organizations can run high-scale transactions at virtually any data set size and concurrency while simultaneously running analytic queries against the primary database to get real-time insights," said Robin Purohit, Clustrix CEO. "With Clustrix, analytic query performance can improve by 25x, and up to 1000x in some cases, which can mean the difference between winning and losing in today's market."
Clustrix is the leading scale-out SQL database, engineered for the cloud. Clustrix provides a radically simple SQL database that enables applications to scale to unlimited users, transactions and data, while eliminating database sharding and automating fault tolerance. Clustrix nodes are in production in web-scale applications around the globe, with more than one trillion transactions per month running through Clustrix databases worldwide. Customers include Rakuten, CSC, Symantec, AOL, MakeMyTrip, Photobox, MedExpert, engage:BDR, AdScience, and Massive Media.
