PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/22/13 -- Accellion®, Inc., the award-winning pioneer in providing enterprise-class, secure mobile file sharing solutions, today announced the availability of the first secure mobile printing solution for mobile users. This lets mobile-enabled employees print the content they want, from the device they choose, whenever they need, further improving the productivity of a company's workforce and optimizing the mobile workflow.

With this new solution, Accellion Mobile Apps for iOS and Android now feature embedded printing technology. As a result, organizations with Ricoh HotSpot Enterprise software and the Accellion secure mobile file sharing solution can print securely from any mobile device to any corporate printer without using a VPN. The integration provides a secure and easy way to print enterprise content from mobile devices, further enhancing any enterprise's Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policy.

"Advances in mobile productivity due to increased use of smartphones and tablets among workers have led to a surge in content creation and consumption, but most enterprises are missing an integral part of the ecosystem -- secure mobile printing," said Yorgen Edholm, CEO at Accellion, Inc. "Limited connectivity and the risks associated with inadvertent data leakage from unsecure printing have left IT and end-users without many options. This new solution provides the missing link, a secure mobile printing solution for enterprises."

According to an October 2011 report from research firm IDC, mobile printing is the fastest growing segment in the document solutions industry and is expected to grow from 68.3 million in 2010 to 1 billion in 2015. Unlike other public cloud mobile printing options, the Accellion private cloud solution maintains security within its secure mobile workflow. This prevents data leaks and keeps enterprise content secure. Mobile workers can print a variety of Microsoft Office documents, PDFs and images to any corporate printer without needing a VPN. The capability also provides seamless integration with existing Active Directory/LDAP, ensuring only authorized users gain access to print resources.

How it works:

•Organizations install Ricoh HotSpot Enterprise Solution on-premise to enable printing. •Once installed, organizations register specific printers to the print server. IT enforces LDAP authentication to print to enterprise printers. •To print a document, the user logins into the secure Accellion Mobile App, authenticates via LDAP using their corporate network credentials and then sees a list of authorized printers for printing.

The Accellion Mobile Apps for iOS and Android with embedded printing technology are available today. For more information, please visit the Accellion product overview.
