May 02--May brings lots of season finales, series premieres and a lineup shuffle for Saturday nights on NBC.
On Thursday, MTV adds "The Show With Vinny," starring "Jersey Shore's" Vinny Guadagnino, at 9 p.m., and comedian Bo Burnham plays a teen who chooses fame and stardom instead of going to college in "Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous," 9:30 p.m. on cable 39.
"Merlin" returns on Syfy at 9 p.m. Friday on cable 45 with the young wizard risking everything to put an end to Morgana's control over Gwen on Friday.
And, over on IFC, "Maron" debuts at 9 p.m. Friday on DirecTV channel 559. It's a podcast turned into a semi-autobiographical TV series with comedian Marc Maron.
Wrapping up their season runs this weekend are: Thursday, ABC's "Wife Swap" (7-8 p.m., channel 8) and NBC's "Parks & Recreation" (8:30 p.m., channel 2, cable 9); Saturday, Fox's "Cops" (7-8 p.m., channel 23, cable 5); and Sunday, CBS' "The Amazing Race (7-9 p.m.), "The Mentalist" (9-10 p.m.) and "Red Widow" (9:01-10 p.m.), all on channel 6.
Stephanie March guest-stars as the third Kerkovich sister, Brooke, in the season finale of "Happy Endings," airing with back-to-back episodes at 7 p.m. Friday on ABC, channel 8. Also, Jane has to plan her perfect sister's wedding, Brad has to deal with Brooke's "perfect" fiance, and Alex and Dave are hiding a big secret. Oklahoma's Megan Mullally makes a guest appearance as Dana with Michael McKean as Big Dave.
Fight or flight
Martin and Trevor go undercover to prevent the company's executives from harming innocent test subjects on "Touch," airing at 8 p.m. Friday on Fox, channel 23, cable 5.
NBC has moved its musical series "Smash" to 7 p.m. Saturdays with "The Voice" special, featuring a look at the road to the live shows, airing at 8 p.m. Saturday on channel 2, cable 9 in Tulsa.
PBS' chilling "The Bletchley Circle" concludes its short run at 9 p.m. Sunday on channel 11. Anna Maxwell Martin stars as Susan, a housewife with two children who has collected data on a series of murders and enlisted her friends Millie, Lucy and Jean -- all of whom worked with her as code breakers for a secret department during World War II -- to help her track a serial killer.
