LOS ANGELES, CA, May 2, 2013 /PRNewswire/ - Actress, model and talk show host Samantha "Sam" Phillips and Toronto actress/comedian Jaclyn Fleming are announcing a forthcoming new original comedy stage play, Postapocalyptica.

Phillips is producing, directing and starring in the show, which is slated for a four-day run this summer in Hollywood, Calif. at a venue to be determined. The story is set in a post apocalyptic world where four unlikely individuals come together.

Fleming will play the lead role of Claudia. "As an actress and comedian, I was chosen for the role given that I have a strong sense of comedic timing and I am keenly adept within each role that I prepare for."

One of Toronto's top theater talents, improv hosts and voiceover artists, Fleming is known for starring in a Special Features monthly improv show at Toronto's Black Swan Tavern. Fleming performs sketch material at various Toronto venues including Chicka Boom, The Free Times Cafe, Comedy Bar and Clinton's. She has acted in After the Fiesta, which won Best Short Film at Naked Fridays, and in commercials for TSN and Tim Hortons. Fleming attended The Second City conservatory and has been trained by industry coaches David Schaap, Bruce Hunter and Bruce Pirrie.

Phillips said, "I'm so excited to be collaborating with her on this project. Jaclyn possess the unique ability to convey a vast array of emotions. It's her empathy for suffering and her understanding of the human condition that make her exceptional. She has a great sense of humor and quirky, comical insights on life. Jaclyn has a strong presence in show business and is a force to be reckoned with."

A 20-year entertainment veteran, Phillips hosts the Internet podcast shows, The Single Life and Sam's Pajama Party. She is a former Penthouse Pet who hosted the hit TV series, Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus and Xtreme Fakeovers.
