Exclusive Content Debuts on Cambio's New Platform
Adds Executive Talent to Support Explosive Growth
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cambio, one of AOL's leading entertainment destinations, today announced a partnership with Billboard Magazine to serve as the exclusive digital partner for the 2013 Billboard Music Awards. The partnership includes turning the traditional red carpet to Cambio's 'blue' for the live pre-awards show in Las Vegas on Sunday, May 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. This program is one of several upcoming premium video programs anticipated to launch on the redesigned Cambio platform.
Partnership with Billboard
The "blue" carpet pre-show will be live-streamed on Cambio.com and AOL.com, at 6:30pm ET/3:30pm PT. The live stream coverage continues at 8:00pm ET/5:00pm PT with exclusive access to backstage interviews and drive-bys with the hottest names in music as they present and perform throughout the awards show. Exclusive content on Cambio.com will also include editorial, videos and photos throughout the show.
"We are thrilled to be partnering with the Billboard Music Awards on this innovative, integrated program," said Keith Wortman, Co-founder & President of Cambio. "Live video streaming and exclusive programming with the biggest names in music before, during, and after the show is exactly what our fast-growing, social-media savvy audience craves."
"Cambio's cutting-edge approach to delivering quality entertainment news is a perfect complement to the spirit and energy of the Billboard Awards," says Dana Miller, SVP Branded Entertainment and Integrated Marketing, Prometheus Global Media. "We are excited and honored to have them as our exclusive digital partner for this year's event."
The New Cambio Experience
The newly designed Cambio platform includes innovative features such as responsive design, continuous scroll, extra large multi-platform video display and a simplified approach to content delivery, making the site user friendly on all devices. These features make Cambio one of the most forward-thinking entertainment destinations on the web.
Using its proprietary algorithm, Cambio identifies the most significant trends across movies, TV, music and pop culture and then super-serves its coverage of these trends via editorial, video, photo, and social programming. This proprietary programming strategy has driven triple-digit audience growth.*
To bolster this growth, Cambio recently added Linda Friedman as Executive Editor. Linda has spent over a decade covering entertainment, most recently as editor-in-chief of E! Online.
"Despite consumers' growing appetite for real-time updates and programming with their favorite stars, there hasn't been a fresh play for entertainment content in this social media age," said Friedman. "Cambio is clearly at the forefront of new and innovative ways to deliver consumers dynamic entertainment content, when and where they want it, and I'm thrilled to be part of Keith's executive team."
