Actavis Confirms Merger Talks With Warner Chilcott

Actavis Inc. (NYSE: ACT), a global specialty pharmaceutical firm, today confirmed that it has entered into early stage discussions with Warner Chilcott PLC (Nasdaq: WCRX) about a potential combination of the two companies.

No agreement had been reached at press time, and Actavis declined further comment.

Actavis' global and U.S. headquarters are in Parsippany, N.J., and its international headquarters are in Zug, Switzerland.
