NOW that Theatrau Sir Gar's summer brochure has been printed and distributed, we -- the programming and publicity team -- are busy marketing those shows and finalising the autumn/winter season programme.
Already confirmed are some majestic companies, artistes and performers for the next programme, including companies Phizzical, The Shakespeare Schools Festival, Loud Applause, Phoenix Theatre Group, Llanelli Musical Players, Cantabile Artists Agency to name but a few.
I am delighted we have secured a date from the performing arts company Phizzical. Their mission is to entertain audiences by producing adventurous and thought provoking theatre-dance. The company's fresh and live performances are influenced by bringing international art forms and cultures together to present the possibilities of our time. And this October, the Arts Council England has offered them a grant to produce a re-imagination of Cymbeline set in India.
Cymbeline is one of William Shakespeare''s rarely performed plays that is romantic, comic, tragic, melodramatic and magical all at the same time. I personally cannot wait for them to visit Llanelli and see true masters in this field at work!
The excitement doesn't stop there, as we are also hosting the next chapter in a musical collaboration from Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Seckou Keita, the West African kora player and drummer.
We also have a host of personalities booked in with the show Celebrity Cook-Off Live, where well known TV chefs will go head to head, live in a competition to win the day's best dish.
With open arms we welcome back one of BBC Radio's well known and much loved presenter Chris Needs with his live show Chris Needs and Friends.
Plus, blue comedian Roy Chubby Brown enjoyed his visit to Llanelli last tour so much that he has insisted on returning. So gear up for an evening of controversial, sarcastic humour, and remember his motto: If easily offended please stay away.
You can also enjoy A Night of Dirty Dancing this October, featuring all the hits from everyone's favourite dance movie Dirty Dancing in the ultimate tribute show.
There's Something for Everyone at Theatrau Sir Gar.
