Deep Focus Scores a Hat Trick at the Shorty Awards

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 04/09/13 -- Deep Focus (www.deepfocus.net), the digital agency for the social age, took part in three top honors at the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences' 5th Annual Shorty Awards.

The awards, which honor the best social media content authors across diverse categories ranging from best actor to best social media agency, were announced last night at the Shorty Awards ceremony in New York hosted by Felicia Day.

The Academy, whose members range from MC Hammer to Steve Wozniak, works to discover the best and most innovative uses of real-time media. Comprised of leaders in technology, journalism, business and culture, the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences plays a key role in choosing the winners of the Shorty Awards (http://youtube.com/shortyawards), honoring the best content producers in social media.

At this year's awards, Deep Focus was recognized as Best Mid-Sized Social Agency while client Pepsi won Best Fortune 500 Brand. Deep Focus CEO and founder Ian Schafer was awarded Best CEO Presence.

Work that contributed to Deep Focus' recognition as Best Mid-Sized Social Agency included its creation of The Moment Studio, a real time content creation unit of the agency whose work for Pepsi, Pernod Ricard and Purina has been widely recognized at, among others, Digiday's SAMMY awards. Last year the SAMMYs named Deep Focus Agency of the Year and saluted the agency's portfolio of work that included "Hug Your Dog Day" with Modern Family's Eric Stonestreet for Purina's Beneful, "The Future of Business Tomorrow" for Microsoft Office 365 and the sustained growth of Pepsi's social media channels.

The agency also received an EMMY in 2012 for "The Long Khan" video starring and honoring William Shatner. The experience for the cable network Epix advertised Shatnerpalooza (a 48-hour Shatner marathon and free preview weekend) and premier of the new documentary, "The Captains."
