ZMD AG (ZMDI), a Dresden-based semiconductor company that specializes in enabling energy efficient solutions, today announces the release of the ZSPM9015, a next-generation, fully optimized, ultra-compact, integrated MOSFET-plus-driver (DrMOS) power stage solution for energy-efficient, high-current, high-frequency, synchronous buck DC-DC applications. As a global supplier of analog and mixed-signal solutions for automotive, industrial, medical, information technology and consumer applications, ZMDI is expanding its smart power management portfolio with the ZSPM9015, a new product for non-isolated DC/DC point-of-load (POL) supply applications.

In combination with ZMDI's compatible smart power management product family, the ZSPM9015 enables area-constrained and high-performance applications, such as servers, storage units, processor boards, field-programmable gate array (FPGA) boards and others. The DrMOS device is compatible with ZMDI's ZSPM10xx family of leading-edge, configurable digital power management system controllers for non-isolated POL supplies and other pulse-width modulation (PWM) controllers. The ZSPM9015 is available in an ultra-compact 40-pin QFN package (6mm x 6mm) and provides a 72% space saving compared to conventional discrete solutions.

-- Zero Current Detection Mode for improved light load performance-- High current handling: I(OUT) up to 35A-- V(IN): 4.5V to 25V (typical 12V)-- Operation temperature: 0 degrees C to 150 degrees C-- Switching frequency: up to 1MHz-- Extended PWM input range supports both 3.3V and 5V-- Under-voltage lockout, thermal warning and thermal shutdown for improved system reliability-- An open-loop evaluation board is available for the ZSPM9015



Availability and Pricing

The ZSPM9015 is in full production. Parts and open-loop evaluation boards are available from ZMDI.

For 1,000 pieces, the ZSPM9015 is priced at EUR 1.63 or USD 2.28 per unit.
