Popejoy has full docket

April 28--Popejoy is welcoming back the wildly popular "Wicked" for 24 performances from Sept. 17-Oct. 5.

The 2013-14 La Vida Llena Broadway in New Mexico series also includes "War Horse," "Hello, Dolly!," "The Addams Family" and "Memphis."

"We are coming off our most successful season ever and we think the season ahead gives our patrons even more reasons to come back to Popejoy again and again," said Popejoy Hall Director Tom Tkach. "The number of high-quality shows really makes the case for subscription."

In addition to the La Vida Llena Broadway in New Mexico series and "Wicked," Popejoy will bring 23 other events ranging from live musical theater, dance productions, acclaimed authors, musicians and singers, Shakespearean theater and more.

The 2013-2014 Popejoy Presents season begins Oct. 20 and extends into October 2014. Popejoy Presents season ticket offerings are divided into two categories: Broadway in New Mexico and the Ovation Series. To subscribe, one must purchase a minimum of the four-show Broadway in New Mexico package or any four Ovation series shows. "Wicked" can only be purchased as an add-on with the Broadway in New Mexico package.

The Ovation series includes "The Joy Luck Club," Lakota Sioux Dance Theatre, Pacific Mambo Orchestra featuring Tito Puente Jr., "STOMP," "Jive Talkin' Presents The Bee Gees," David Sedaris, "The Graduate," "American Idiot," "Mariachi Christmas," "A Christmas Carol," "An Irish Homecoming," The Peking Acrobats, "Disney's Beauty and the Beast," "Swan Lake," "Celtic Nights," Los Vivancos, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, "Twelfth Night," Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, Sherman Alexie, Soweto Gospel Choir, "Yesterday Once More: A Musical Tribute to the Carpenters," Taikoza and The Mystical Arts of Tibet.
