LOS ANGELES, April 29, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Baldwin Hills Crenshaw is kicking off its celebration of Cinco de Mayo a day early this year with a free community festival on the mall's open-air promenade this Saturday, May 4th. The event is open to the public and will include Latino inspired performances on the outdoor stage; children's activities; and a Buffalo Wild Wings beer & margarita pavilion or garden. Authentic Mexican cuisine will be provided by local restaurant La Flor de Yucatan as well as La Casita Mexicana, which is slated to open at BHC later this year.
The fun begins at 2pm with an exciting show by Aztec dancers, followed by music from the all-female mariachi group "Trio Ellas" and a grand finale by Folklorico dancers. The LA Galaxy Futboleros - the "Harlem Globetrotters" of soccer - will perform soccer tricks and display their juggling skills for the crowd and host mini-soccer clinics. Baldwin Hills Crenshaw will also offer free kids' crafts as a part of their monthly Kid's Club in Center Court and free face painting throughout the afternoon.
Radio K-Love will be onsite throughout the afternoon with on-air personality "La Chiquibaby" hosting a remote broadcast from 3:30-5:30pm.
Outdoor seating on the promenade is on a first-come, first-serve basis, so guests are encouraged to arrive early. Guests are also encouraged to bring lawn chairs to enjoy the concerts and stage entertainment. Parking is available in the structure across from Rave Cinemas and throughout the mall property. For more information, call Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza Guest Services at (323) 290-6636.
