MASON, OH and WEST PALM BEACH, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 03/06/13 -- Cooperative Services of Florida, a Regional Buying Cooperative whose members are Lee Memorial Health System, Central Florida Health Alliance, Huntsville Hospital and Sarasota Memorial Health Care System, has retained ConnXus, an online supplier-diversity service, to help it locate and do business with minority- and woman-owned suppliers.
Cooperative Services of Florida creates value for its members by contracting directly with manufacturers versus using national group purchasing organization contracts. CSF works with LeeSar Regional Service Center to achieve maximum value for all members.
ConnXus helps companies optimize their spending on outside goods and services, which includes identifying and contracting with new suppliers. To address their clients' growing commitment to engaging diversity suppliers, it provides a searchable database of minority- and woman-owned vendors and provides an online platform to post contract bidding opportunities.
"This collaboration represents an unprecedented opportunity for minority- and woman-owned businesses to compete for contracts within the Cooperative membership. This can help businesses grow and help create more jobs and a larger tax base," said Rod Robinson, ConnXus.com founder and CEO. "Cooperative Services of Florida wants to contract with more diverse suppliers, and now, with ConnXus.com, it has a more effective way to connect with them."
"The mission of Cooperative Services of Florida is to find the best value for the membership utilizing clinically acceptable products and services that meet or exceed quality requirements established by the end user," said Bill Tousey, Vice President of Cooperative Services of Florida. "The ConnXus vendor network is an opportunity to expand the range of possibilities in our pursuit of member value."
