"We developed this app because test day confidence and readiness are high on test takers' priority lists," says Dawn Piacentino, Director of Communications and Services for the GRE Program at ETS. "With so many people planning to take the GRE revised General Test to apply to graduate and business schools around the world, this app lets them bring the test experts with them wherever they go."
At just $4.99, the app starter pack features an overview of the GRE revised General Test with 50 real test questions, valuable tips for answering each question type and writing tasks with sample responses and scoring guides. The in-app expansion pack, available for $19.99, features 250 additional real test questions, additional writing tasks, as well as a GRE Math Review. As a complement to the already popular test prep tools including The Official Guide — available in eBook and print formats, the GRE® Success Starter video, and the free POWERPREP® II software, the app adds to the index of test prep tools designed to help test takers prepare for test day.
On test day, individuals who prepared for the test using tools from ETS, the test maker, will be familiar with the test-taker friendly design features. These features include the ability to preview questions, skip questions and change answers — all within a section — giving test takers the freedom to use more of their own test-taking strategies. And, with the new ScoreSelect(SM)option, test takers can now decide which GRE scores from their reportable history to send to their designated institutions, a feature not available on any other graduate or business school admissions test in the world. "We have provided all of these options so test takers can use the tools that best fit their needs and help boost their confidence," adds Piacentino.
The Official GRE® Guide app was developed by gWhiz and co-published by ETS and McGraw-Hill. "This app provides a dynamic new way to study and prepare for the GRE test," says Philip Ruppel, president of McGraw-Hill Professional. "Offering a superb user experience for students, it represents an exciting new development in our partnership with ETS in publishing Official Test guides."
