TAIPEI, TAIWAN -- (Marketwire) -- 03/18/13 --
•Companies across Taiwan now have a cost-effective option to enhance collaboration and save on travel costs •Users can access rich video collaboration features from any device and any location •Businesses can manage their own resources through a virtual video conferencing management tool
Avaya, a global provider of business collaboration and communications solutions and services, today announced that Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan's largest telecom services provider, has deployed video technologies from Radvision, an Avaya company, to provide cloud-based high definition video conferencing services to companies across Taiwan. Businesses can now empower their employees with easy-to-use video communications capabilities across different devices and from any location.
Chunghwa Telecom has adopted a comprehensive solution from Radvision, with the Scopia Elite Multipoint Conferencing Unit (MCU) as the core of its cloud-based video conferencing platform. Scopia Elite MCUs can effectively support both telepresence style in-room video conferencing and convenient desktop and mobile video communications, or a combination of all. The Scopia Elite MCU can provide smooth video streaming even when the company's network is not running at its best, thanks to its standards-based scalable video coding (SVC).
End users can install Scopia Desktop and Scopia Mobile on their Macs, PCs, iPhone, iPad, and Android devices and enjoy convenient on-demand video communications at any time and from any location. This provides access across an increasingly mobile workforce, and enterprises benefit from the productivity gains, cost savings and customer service enhancements that video delivers.
Whether in the office, at a customer site, or on the road, users can benefit from the same rich video collaboration capabilities. Participants can easily share data, such as presentations, spreadsheets, and images during the video conference. They can also review previously shared materials without interrupting the presenter using Scopia's unique advanced data collaboration / "slider" feature.
Chunghwa Telecom has a dedicated team available around the clock to help companies with their video conferencing needs. In addition, with the Scopia Management Suite, enterprises can manage their own resources through virtual video conferencing management capabilities as if they are managing their own on-premises system.
Additional Radvision solutions that Chunghwa Telecom has adopted include Scopia XT room systems, Scopia Pathfinder, and Scopia ISDN Gateway. As the Scopia Elite MCU is fully based on industry standards, it can also interoperate with video solutions from other vendors so that companies with existing equipment can protect and reuse that investment while providing additional services and functionality to a much broader employee base.
