Vector Marketing Honors Leading Entrepreneurs, Sales Professionals With Silver Cups

ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/12/13 -- Entrepreneurship and sales excellence were all on display recently at the regional year-end awards banquet for one of the nation's leading direct sales companies.

Vector Marketing, the direct sales division for Cutco Corporation, honored its finest sales performers at this gala event attended by more than 500 managers, sales representatives, and parents. Cutco, the largest kitchen cutlery manufacturer in North America, sells its products primarily through a national network of college students who sell through in-home personal demonstrations. The 63-year-old company manufactures its cutlery products in the western New York State city of Olean.

"It was a distinct honor to celebrate our leading managers and sales representatives," said Amar Dave, Executive Vice President of Sales/Eastern Region. "As individuals and as a team, they all exercised a tremendous amount of effort, determination, leadership and desire to achieve these special honors."

A total of five Silver Cups were presented, designating the nation's leading sales performances in a variety of categories based on longevity with the company. Cathy Vazquez-Tinaya led the way with two for office and district competitions. An Assistant Division Manager in Miami, she has almost $19 million in career sales.

Other Silver Cup winners included: Matt Johnson (E. Cincinnati) for Personal Sales; Ben Jackson (N. Atlanta) for New District Manager; and Bryan Hurlman (S. Charlotte) for Office Sales.

Sarah Mashburn, a career sales representative from Northeast Atlanta, set a company record with more than $400,000 in personal sales.

Vector sales representatives usually begin as college students. Some move up the ranks as managers while others use the experience as stepping stones to other sales-oriented and entrepreneurial careers. These independent contractors learn a wide range of skills that serve them well with Vector or in other positions. These skills include:

3. Teamwork
