Silver Bear Welcomes Robin Birchall as Executive Chair and Member of Board of Directors

TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/11/13 -- Silver Bear Resources Inc. ("Silver Bear" or the "Company") (TSX: SBR) is pleased to announce that Robin Birchall has been appointed Executive Chair and a member of the board of directors.

Robin Birchall has fourteen years of experience in resource corporate finance, most recently with BMO Capital Markets, where he completed a variety of high profile transactions for resource companies. Mr. Birchall has extensive experience financing companies in the former Soviet Union, having completed a large number of financing and acquisition transactions, including the landmark UrAsia financing in Kazakhstan and PhosAgro's IPO on the London Stock Exchange. Prior to BMO, Mr. Birchall was V.P. Corporate Finance at Canaccord Adams Ltd. and earlier at Brown Shipley & Co. Mr. Birchall earned an MBA from the University of Cape Town, an Msc in European and International Politics from Edinburgh University, a Premiere Degre en Langues Literature et Civilisation, from Stendahl Universite and a BA from Queens University. Mr Birchall is also a director of Vast Exploration Inc.
