In Mexico, TV is more popular than ever. According to Ericsson(NASDAQ: ERIC)ConsumerLab's annual study - presented in the TV & Video Consumer TrendReport2012 - 24 percent of Mexican consumers say they have increased their TVsubscriptions. To remain competitive and meet the growing consumer demandfor TVservices that offer greater control and interactivity, Mexican operatorAXTELhas entered a partnership with Ericsson for the deployment, integration andmanagement of an end-to-end next generation TV platform.
The system deploys a number of Ericsson TV solutions, including thehigh-performance MPEG-4 AVC headend for linear and on-demandstandard-definition (SD)and high-definition (HD) TV channels, as well as the award-winning EricssonMultiscreen TV Solution.

Ericsson's TV solution will enable AXTEL to harness greater efficiencies,launchnew, differentiated services and grow revenues as it provides its userswith thelatest-generation of personalized and interactive TV experiences. A keyfactorin AXTEL's decision to choose Ericsson was Ericsson's ability to offer aworldclass Network Operations Centre (NOC) and video management infrastructuretohelp mitigate operational complexities and risks. This will allow AXTEL tofocuson its core business functions and to secure a successful service launch ofitsnew triple play bundled offer in Mexico.
Ericsson has to date signed more than 240 IPTV contracts. These includecommercial multi-screen contracts, IPTV system integration projects, IPTVheadend contracts and IPTV infrastructure contracts for access, metrotransportand IP Edge.
