ORLANDO, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 02/13/13 -- The Life Insurance Settlement Association (LISA), the largest association serving the life settlement industry, announces its third annual Institutional Investor Life Settlement Conference, set for March 11, 2013, at the Harvard Club of New York City, 35 West 44th Street, New York, NY.
This annual event known distinctively for its valuable, informative and focused content for institutional investors will once again bring to light the opportunities and landscape of the dynamic secondary market for life insurance.
This year's focus will be on the exciting new initiatives that have begun to emerge that are reinvigorating the flow of policies to the secondary market and how this increases opportunities for investors attracted to the high-yield, non-correlated assets. Attendees will be presented with new data about how effective regulation of the market has resulted in life settlements being the subject of significantly few lawsuits and regulatory actions. A panel of investors experienced in life settlements will discuss recent investor activities and anticipated trends.
"Secondary market life insurance policies are a compelling asset class for investment portfolios of pensions, foundations and endowments," Darwin Bayston, President of LISA, said. "Secondary market policies offer low correlation, comparative attractive returns and lower volatility compared with traditional institutional investment alternatives."
Highlights of the conference will include:
•The Compelling Case for Life Settlements as an Investment for Pensions •Analysis That Life Settlements Have NOT Been the Subject of Litigation •New Initiatives in Origination of Life Settlements: Connecting Long-Term Care and Life Settlements •State and Federal Legislative and Regulatory Environment
The lineup of speakers include:
•Alan Buerger, Coventry, Chairman, LISA •Gary Brown, CMG Life Services •Jule Rousseau, Arent Fox, LLP •Thomas Weinberger, Stroock & Stoock & Lavan, LLP •James Maxson, Morris Manning & Martin •Chris Orestis, Life Care Funding Group •Michael Freedman, Coventry •Steve Boger, Maple Analytics
LISA believes that it is important for institutional investors to understand and feel comfortable with life settlements as an investment alternative. In turn, participants in the life settlement industry must also be aware of the requirements of institutional investors to invest in the asset class.
Note: Attendance will be only $250 for qualified institutional investors. Members and non-members can take advantage of the best valued conference in the industry. For complete details about the conference visit our event website at: http://events.lisainstitute.org/.
