MCLEAN, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/11/13 -- Cognosante, a leading provider of IT solutions and services for healthcare organizations, announced it was awarded the Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) State Self-Assessment (SS-A) contract for the Michigan Department of Community Health (DCH) Medical Services Administration (MSA). The contract began January 1, 2013.

With proven tools and methodologies used for MITA assessments in 26 states, Cognosante will guide the MSA through the MITA SS-A to meet new requirements mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The new requirements, stipulated in MITA Framework, Version 3.0, introduce changes that require additional analysis and planning. Cognosante will also support Six Sigma Lean training and business processes analysis for MSA. This support will benefit the State of Michigan as it moves forward to improve its health care business processes.
