"This is another significant milestone for IndiGo and IAE," said IAE President Jon Beatty. "They have a long history with IAE, including being the launch customer for the first V2500 SelectOne engine. Not only is their entire fleet powered by the V2500, it is also covered under IAE's V-Services(SM)."
"In a little over six years since we began operating, our low fares and high service ethos at IndiGo has enabled us to grow to become India's largest domestic carrier," said Aditya Ghosh, President, IndiGo. "We already operate one of the world's youngest most fuel efficient fleets with our SelectOne IAE engines, and our investment in the Sharklet will help reduce our fuel consumption even further."
Ghosh further added, "Our environmentally friendly fleet of the A320s will set a benchmark by significantly reducing the impact on the environment and lead the way to a more sustainable mode of flying. 'Sharklets' fitted A320s will help us extend these benefits to our customers, as they select IndiGo, India's greenest carrier."
