Sales at Ford Motor Co. projected Monday it would maintain its position as the top selling brand in North America for 2013.
The company said sales rose 15 percent January through November this year compared to the same period of 2012, the Wall Street Journal reported.
"The Ford brand has had more retail share growth than any other brand in the country with our most significant gains coming from import-dominated coastal markets," said John Felice, the company's vice president of U.S. marketing, sales and service.
Ford projected sales for the year would top 1.7 million, making it the best year in six years, the Journal reported.
Ford projected passenger car sales would top 600,000 for the year.
Overall, sales of trucks, sports utility vehicles and cars rose 7 percent in November compared to November 2012, the company said.
