Barco N.V., a display hardware manufacturer, has announced that 100 theaters in India's southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh will soon be equipped with Auro 11.1, the next-generation threelayer sound technology from Auro Technologies powered by Barco. Two post - production and mixing facilities belonging to Ramanaidu Studios - all collaborating with film production company Suresh Productions - will install the certified Auro-3D Studio System.
Barco is pulling out all the stops to install the first 25 systems before the year is out, as a number of big titles are being released in the near future.
Auro 11.1 by Barco, developed by Auro Technologies and powered by Barco, offers audiences an enthralling immersive sound experience by reproducing sound on three axes (x,y,z) with 3 layers of sound which create a natural spread of acoustic energy around the whole audience. With ambient sounds coming from all around and above, moviegoers hear the most true-to-life reproduction of sound, creating the most immersive experience as if they are part of the action on screen.
In order to provide the theaters in Andhra Pradesh - and its audiences - with movies that offer a truly mesmerizing sound immersion, two studios of Ramanaidu will start mixing audio for Tollywood productions using Auro-3D production tools. Auro-3D is compatible with speaker layouts from Auro 8.0 up till Auro 22.1 using channel-based as well as object-based technology.
Two postproduction and mixing facilities belonging to Ramanaidu Studios will be certified by Auro Technologies to mix audio for movies that will be released in Andhra Pradesh in Auro 11.1 by Barco.
"Ramanaidu Studios is really ahead of the curve by adopting this technology," said Abel Garamhegyi, Managing Director at Barco India.

With Auro 11.1 by Barco, they will stay true to their pioneering spirit, the latest product Auro 11.1 by Barco sound system is trying to reach the perfection which we already achieved in the pictures in the cinemas with the sound. The human being is pretty much driven by both and in the movie theatre it is very important to have that experience as a total impression on the individuals. The bookings for the Auro 11.1 version are much higher than the standard 5.1, we really believe that we catch additional audience with this technology and it can be a very powerful tool with the competition that people stay at home and watch their big television set as they can come together and enjoy the overall experience", added Abel Garamhegyi.

The theaters will upgrade their 2D sound technology to Barco's three-layer sound platform, in close collaboration with Suresh Productions, a subsidiary of Ramanaidu studios and Barco India's Auro deployment partner, M/s Pro Visual Audio Pvt. Ltd, Chennai.
