The new vShield options are part of VMware’s recent vShield Manager upgrade. Infinitely Virtual has rolled out larger and clustered Self-Managed Firewall Options with multi-interface support and enhanced load-balancing features. Small and midsize businesses have a choice of four options -- Compact, Compact Clustered, Large, and Large Clustered – depending on the level of performance they need.
Previously, vShield came in only one size – small. VMware has made it possible to both increase the size of vShield appliances and aggregate the vShield appliances in active and passive clusters. Businesses using Infinitely Virtual’s vShield product can now have a clustered product that is self-managed – that is, they can configure it themselves.
