Oct. 31--POMONA -- Northern Irish indie rock act Two Door Cinema Club are music festival regulars of sorts after performing at Indio's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April and Tennessee's Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in 2012.
Tonight, the group will headline the Fox Theater in Pomona with tickets still available.
On Monday, the band will take center stage at the sold-out Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. Opening for the group on both nights is St. Lucia.
Two Door Cinema Club's latest album "Beacon" was released in September 2012 and the first single was "Sleep Alone," which has nearly 3 million views on YouTube.
In a biography on their record label's website , vocalist Alex Trimble described what it was like working with producer Jacknife Lee on their latest record. Lee has worked with acts as diverse as country music's Taylor Swift and the electronic experimental act Crystal Castles.
"Working with Jacknife Lee was a joy and a pleasure," Trimble said on the site. "He shared our goals and played a huge part in putting the pieces together in the right way. This is an exciting time for us and we can't wait to share the songs with everyone."
The group's first album was "Tourist History," which was released in February 2010 with singles like "Something Good Can Work."
Indie pop's St. Lucia, wose real name is Jean-Philip Grobler, is originally from Johannesburg, South Africa but moved to New York to officially start his musical career.
On the road, Grobler enlists the support of musicians Patricia Beranek, Nick Brown, Ross Clark and Nick Paul. Grobler says the biggest influences on his sound are Peter Gabriel, early Madonna and Fleetwood Mac.
"I became obsessed with a certain wave of nostalgic pop music, mainly from the '80s, that to me represents some of the best pop music ever made," Grobler said. "The music from that era has this unabashed, completely over-the-top quality to it, and that seemed fresh to me."
