ALEXANDRA Roach has said the experience of filming the movie One Chance in South Wales has been hugely enjoyable, not least because it allowed her to spend time at home in Ammanford.
The film tells the story of Britain's Got Talent sensation Paul Potts, who shot to prominence after astounding judges with his incredible singing voice in 2007.
Alexandra plays Potts's wife Julie-Ann, and said the experience of filming so close to home was incredible.
She said: It was great to go home and film One Chance - I'm not sure when I'll have that luxury again.
The people in and around Port Talbot too were so welcoming to us and everyone said they've never experienced such kindness when filming.
She added: Filming in Swansea I was very much on my home turf - so any time I had off from filming I'd make the most of running home to Ammanford and seeing family and friends. I can't come home as often as I like these days so it was a luxury. The film is tipped for great success, with Alexandra having the pleasure of acting alongside the likes of James Corden and Julie Walters. She said: It was great to be able to work with someone like James because he was so quick and so witty. You have to join him on that level.
It felt like a very free set in order to try new things and to improv our way through.
If a scene wasn't working myself and James would go off and be like 'how do we make this better?' We would work through stuff before coming back to the set.
Alexandra's acting career began on S4C's Pobl y Cwm as a teenager. In 2011 she starred as Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady and she is already looking ahead to her next projects.
She said: I have done a thriller called The Thirteenth Tale with Vanessa Redgrave and Olivia Coleman, and that will be on the BBC at Christmas, I think.
I saw a bit of that last week and that looks really scary and really different to anything that I have done before.
At the minute I am filming in Leeds for a couple of months as I am filming the second season of Utopia, which will be on your screens early next year.
?One Chance is out in cinemas now.
