Oct. 03--SAN BERNARDINO -- Queen Experience, recreating the rock band that defined a generation, presents its non-stop, high-octane show in four performances Oct. 18-20 at the California Theatre of the Performing Arts.
Presented by Queen Nation, one of the most acclaimed Queen bands in the world, the show preserves the image, sound and stage persona of vintage Queen, the British rock band that recorded such hits as "We Will Rock You," "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Are the Champions" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."
Presented by Theatrical Arts International in the historic, downtown California Theatre, Queen Experience will be presented at 8 p.m. Oct. 18-19 and at 2 p.m. Oct. 19-20. Tickets are $38.50-$77.50, available through www.ticketmaster.com or theater box office at 909-885-5152.
Queen and its legendary lead singer Freddy Mercury ranks as one of the most powerful and iconic groups in rock history and packed arenas worldwide with mega hit after mega hit. When Mercury died in 1991,the rock music world lost one of its most charismatic performers.
Other Queen hits include "Another One Bites the Dust," "You're My Best Friend, "Somebody to Love" and "Play the Game." The band released 18 No. 1 albums and 18 No. 1 singles, with album sales estimated from 150 million to 300 million albums, making them one of the world's best-selling music artists.
Some of the group's best-selling albums include "Sheer Heart Attack," A Night at the Opera," "A Day at the Races," "News of the World," "Jazz," "Live Killers," "Play The Game," "The Works" and "A Kind of Magic."
Queen was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. All four members of the band were inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2003. In 2009, the songs "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions" were inducted into the Gammy Hall of Fame. "We are the Champions" was voted favorite song in a global music poll.
Queen's popularity skyrocketed even more when "Bohemian Rhapsody" was featured in Mike Meyers' 1992 film comedy "Wayne's World." The song reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks and remained on the list for more than 40 weeks. It also won the band an MTV Award at the 1992 MTV Video Music Awards,
Queen Nation, which formed in 2004, has performed throughout the United States and in Canada and Mexico. It features Gregory Finsley on vocals and keyboards as Freddy Mercury.
Rounding out Queen Nation is Mike McManus, on guitar and vocals as Brian May, Parker Combs on bass as John Deacon, and Peter Burke, drums and vocals, as Roger Taylor.
