A GCC-based telecoms group has announced Middle East-Europe Terrestrial System (MEETS).
du CEO Osman Sultan, said du, Vodafone, Zain and Zajil paid equally for the $36 million high-bandwidth regional cable system infrastructure investment.
A major regional telecommunications development has seen the establishment of the GCC-wide telecoms group to build a high-bandwidth regional transmission cable system for the region.
du, Vodafone, Zain and Zajil both conceived and jointly promoted the system, to be called as MEETs.
Osman Sultan, said, "Customers in the Middle East today have ever-increasing high speed data needs as it is becoming an integral part of today's lifestyle. The announcement of MEETS with like-minded visionary partners is a step towards realizing this need.
