Q Axial-Flow combines get a refreshed cab with added control features, from upgraded electronics and subtle changes to the seat-mounted multifunction controller and the side console. Tablet computer connectivity is also new.
A new 12.2m (41ft) cut table will be of interest to growers practising controlled traffic farming. There are also plans to add a draper-type table option for harvest 2014.
Q Avero: New 240 model gets Perkins 1200-series engine and rotating radiator screen and dust extraction for increased cooling.
Tucano: 420 joins the range with five straw walkers and a 7,500-litre grain tank aft of the 1.32m wide APS threshing system. Colour Cebis control terminal and telematics remote data recording, yield mapping, and laser or GPS auto steering available.
Lexion: Entry-level Lexion 740 rotary separation combine packs a
Central tyre inflation introduced for rear tyres on Lexion 700 Terra-Trac combines allows pressures to be optimised for field work before being automatically reset for road travel. Also, the straw chopper/spreader can now automatically take account of side slopes and wind.
Q New C9000-series has two models. The five straw-walker C9205S has a 7.8 litre six-cylinder 334hp engine, header widths of 4.8-7.2m and a tank of 9,500 litres.
The six straw-walker C9206 has the same engine but pushes power output up to 395hp. Header widths go from 4.8-9m and the grain tank is the same size as on the smaller model.
Deutz-Fahr says that other changes have been made to boost output by 10% compared to the 60-series models. An extra feed roller has been added in the intake elevator and a longer 6m discharge auger has been fitted. Hydraulically driven rear axles are available, as are front rubber tracks.
Q The S685i slotted into the S-series rotary threshing and separation range fills a power and performance gap with 500hp for harvesting and up to 570hp when unloading on the move.
It will also have the new EvenMax cleaning system to give more even feeding on slopes and maximum airflow for increasing cleaning efficiency.
A new grain-loss monitoring system gives more accurate info on grain losses. Redesigned chaff spreaders and pans for straw walker machines are fitted, as are adjustable deflectors for wider cutting tables. Meanwhile the new Interactive Combine Adjustment system for all models helps with optimising settings in different crops and conditions.
Engine speed management for the ProDrive auto two-speed gearbox and diff lock transmission on selected T- and S-series combines helps reduce fuel consumption.
Q MF's Skyline cab is now fitted to Centora straw walker and Delta rotary combines and both models get the Atrak rubber track option for the first time.
Internally, a new returns system includes a threshing section in the lift auger to separate grains, and the size of the clean grain elevator has been increased by 50% to help improve output. A new drive for the unloading system now empties the grain tanks at a rate of 120 litres/sec. A 10.7m version of the Powerflow table is available, too.
In the cab, there's now a seat-mounted console, while the TechTouch terminal manages most aspects of the machines.
Q TC5000 straw-walker models get the new larger, brighter Harvest Suite cab, as well as a redesigned right-hand console and improved instruments.
TC5060 models and above can now have the OptiFan longitudinal fan speed system from the CX and CR combines installed to compensate for the effect of the machine working up and down hills.
On combines in the CX7000 and CX8000 Elevation ranges, a revised "powered separation" section ahead of the walkers has a reconfigured rear drum beater and capacity improvements come from a heavy-duty elevator and revised crop flow into the straw chopper.
OptiFan slope compensation is standard on these models and is complemented by variable speed straw walkers, while CX "SL" models now have the OptiClean self-levelling cleaning shoe from the CR rotary threshing and separation combines.
Q There are no changes to the Sampo-Rosenlew compact combines range for 2014.
