Schwartz will address how big data is changing security management and will provide a blueprint for organizations looking to cope with the uncertainty of unknown cyber risks and will outline ways for organizations to succeed in the face of complex security risks and advanced threats.
"The last few years of tremendous losses due to state-sponsored, criminal and hacktivist activities have demonstrated the importance of an information-centric security model in which cyber security programs are closely linked to business risk," said Schwartz. "Security professionals need to proactively plan for both uncertain and unknown situations, which can be challenging."
Adding to the issue, Schwartz says, "Unfortunately in many sectors, security skills at all levels have not evolved and kept pace with either technology advancements or business requirements in terms of adoption of big data, cloud, mobility and social media. Our industry must address this critical skills problem, and ISACA's work in this space is an important part of the solution."
