Oct. 20--Broadcast and cable supply the chills this Halloween season with a plethora of horrors and ghoulishly themed programming. Here's a sample of what's headed to a TV near you:
"Pretty Little Liars" (ABC Family) -- The annual Halloween special sends the Liars to a very unusual costume party.
"Brooklyn Nine-Nine" (Fox) -- Halloween turns crazy for the police department.
"New Girl" (Fox) -- A Halloween party serves as a backdrop to "catfish" one of the roommates.
"Grimm" (NBC) -- A panicked Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch), Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) enlist Hank's (Russell Hornsby) help in fending off a zombie hoard while trying to figure out what happened to Nick (David Giuntoli) in the season premiere of this hit series.
"Dracula" (NBC) -- In NBC's latest series premiere, the mysterious Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) arrives in London, posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society. But what he really wants is to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.
"The Simpsons" (Fox) -- An encore of 2013's "Treehouse of Horrors XXIV," followed by last year's episode.
Horror films (TCM) -- Prepare yourself for the fearfest known as "A Bucket of Blood" at 5 p.m., "Dementia 13" at 8:15 p.m. and "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" at 9:45 p.m.
"Zombie Night" (Syfy) -- Two families in a small American town face off against zombies in a long night of horror, torn between helping one another and saving themselves. Daryl Hannah, Anthony Michael Hall and Shirley Jones.
Halloween specials (ABC Family) -- That Grinch doesn't like any holiday in "Dr. Seuss' Halloween is Grinch Night." Gutsy Smurf heads to spooky Smurfy Hollow in the premiere of "The Smurfs: The Legend of Smurfy Hollow" followed by back-to-back airings of "Scooby Doo" and "Scooby Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed."
"Scare Tactics" (Syfy) -- Tracy Morgan hosts a special marathon of the hidden camera show with a sci-fi twist that pulls outrageous pranks on unsuspecting friends and family. In these new episodes, subjects will be subjected to post-Voodoo ceremony zombie attacks at a cemetery, a meat-eating fly experiment gone horribly wrong and a homicidal comedian at a comedy award show that Tracy "hosts."
Horror films (Syfy) -- Start your day with "An American Werewolf in London" at 11 a.m., followed by "Devil's Advocate" at 1 p.m. and "The Ninth Gate" at 4 p.m.
"Welcome to the Family" (NBC) -- Teen parents-to-be Junior and Ella attend an unusual Halloween party.
"Grey's Anatomy" (ABC) -- The doctors are inundated by "barrage of spooky patients."
"It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (ABC) -- Yes, the Halloween classic is airing on ABC this year.
